An instinctive passion for pastries, porcelain, and all-things-pretty has guided me through a multifaceted career as a fine artist, entrepreneur, jeweler, and pastry chef.

After graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute, I pursued a career as a professional studio artist, exhibiting my translucent porcelain installations throughout the country. Sweet Mud Clay Works was quickly founded, allowing me to produce and sell my wares and jewelry to customers around the country. To satisfy an inherited adoration of baking, I began working as a cake decorator and pastry chef. Within a few years I started my own baking company where I specialized in decadent vegan desserts.

A nagging desire to escape the comforts of the Midwest led me to Philadelphia in 2011 to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. It was there that I further explored the relationship between my two seemingly disparate backgrounds as a ceramicist and pastry chef.

My current offerings through Sweet Mud Clay Works represent this devotion to both porcelain and pastries, wherein the colors, textures, and patterns are evocative of both fields of creativity.

I am now happily living in sunny Southern California, spending my days creating distinctive wares and jewelry in my Los Angeles-based studio.
